Beginning Freestyle Swing Series – Beginning One, Two and Three
This series introduces you to JohnnieRay’s innovative Freestyle Swing method. His goal is to get you up and dancing together on the first class! Without footwork or counting, you and your partner learn to connect through your hands, leaving your feet free to dance to music of all kinds. In just four weeks, at the close of Beginning One, you will not only have ten to twelve moves at your command, but will have easy ways to put them together to flow on the dance floor.
The Beginning Freestyle Series is comprised of three four-week classes that are designed to build on each other. Beginning 1 can be taken as a stand-alone class, but is a prerequisite for Beginning Two and Three. Each level reinforces the learning of the previous classes while also adding new moves to your repertoire each week.
At the close of this series, you will be ready to dance for all occasions: parties, weddings, class reunions and cruises!
According to JohnnieRay, “mistakes are the seeds of creativity,” and thus his “no mistakes policy” encourages couples to relax and enjoy the process. Sometimes so-called mistakes turn into new moves!

Intermediate Freestyle Swing Series – Intermediate One, Two and Three
These classes take you and your partner to a new level of confidence with greater emphasis on dancing to a breadth of music genres: swing, blues, country, jazz, Latin, slow songs and more. In this series, you will develop your individual style and flair while continuing to reinforce all previous learning, and as always, add some fantastic new moves! The focus is still on ease and fun, but creating a look that is more sophisticated and showy.
The Intermediate Freestyle Swing Series is comprised of three four-week classes. As with the Beginning series, Intermediate 1 can be taken alone, but is a prerequisite for Intermediate 2 and 3. At the close of this series, you will definitely have added the WOW factor to your dancing through increased confidence and style!
Freestyle Workshop
This Freestyle extension was added for couples who were simply “having too much fun” and didn’t want to stop! Each group shapes the class with their own needs and desires for development as dancers. New moves continue to be added to your spectrum as well as learning how to create your own dance sequences. With greater one-on-two attention, this level turns dance students into full-fledged dancers! This course is offered as either as a four-week class or an ongoing group.
Freestyle Review and Something New
This class is an opportunity to refresh your Freestyle skills if needed, as well as learn a few new moves for good measure. It’s also a chance to have some assisted practice time with great music! Offered intermittently
